With an abundance of gardens, playgrounds, and communal outdoor spaces, Rise Park is inspired by both the quietness of nature as well as the vibrance of Irvine. It’s a community park that both children and adults feel welcome in. Weaving in natural design elements such as wood details complimented by contemporary black and white material finishes, the RSM Design team worked to integrate a wayfinding signage plan that guides visitors to and from amenities.
PARK SIGNAGE INSPIRED BY NATURE
Situated on an elevated landscape within the larger Great Park Neighborhoods, Rise Park features an overlook terrace and majestic environment. RSM Design collaborated with architecture and landscape groups to craft placemaking and signage for the neighborhood park to excite guests as they enter various amenities, such as the Tot Lot playground or The Overlook.
The design team also created informational signage with the goal to educate people on the natural surroundings. These signs, featuring illustrations of the Quino Checkerspot Butterfly or the California Gnatcatcher, are seen throughout the park’s garden areas. Delightful moments as these create exciting memories and encourage guests to visit the park time and time again.
