Glendale, Colorado

Four Mile District

Four Mile District is Glendale Colorado’s newest entertainment destination offering a spectrum of experiences from day to night. This mixed-use development is anchored with a theater, restaurants, entertainment venues, and community spaces. The heart of the project is an expansive green designated for community programming. The site is also connected to active hiking and biking trails. RSM Design was invited to create a vision and brand narrative to represent the vibrant district. The scope of work included naming and visioning, logo design, brand guidelines, and digital website concepts. The design team collaborated with Central Street Capital to craft a flexible brand with an ability to translate between digital, print and architectural environments.

A NEW ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT FOR THE GLENDALE REGION

Combining dynamic experiences with a unique sense of place, the project will embody energy and vibrancy. As an opportunity to root 4 Mile District in Glendale’s community and local history, the name was derived from the nearby historical Four Mile House. The landmark was the last stagecoach stop on the trail to Denver and historically was a destination watering hole and dance hall for travelers.

RSM Design created a versatile brand that expresses the vibrant energy and the spectrum of experiences at Four Mile District.

CREATING A COHESIVE BRAND ACROSS PRINT, DIGITAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL APPLICATIONS

The brand kit of parts includes a variety of logo options including marks and logotypes. The team crafted a unique formula that creates consistently throughout different touch points – print, digital or the physical environment. RSM Design created a brand standards manual which defined various patterns, color palettes, a typography suite, and suggested brand rules. The district is able to utilize these guidelines to develop the brand into the future.

THE BRAND IN A DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT

An initial stage in marketing an entertainment district is through a website. After designing the brand, RSM Design was invited to create a conceptual website design, including a splash pages and graphic elements for website pages. Central Street Captial wanted the website to exude vibrancy and energy all while feeling intuitive and fresh. The final design is flexible from mobile to desktop.
