Harmonizing park experience and urban flow

In the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, a new civic destination is taking shape that brings together art, food, and nature as a celebration of diversity and community. Spanning two acres within the Civic Center and Grand Park district, the project will introduce a multi-level restaurant pavilion by OM+A, shaded gathering areas with flexible seating, and lush native landscaping by Studio MLA that fosters awareness of sustainability and resilience. Designed as both a cultural hub and a welcoming green space, the site will invite residents and visitors to connect with one another while experiencing the vibrancy of Los Angeles in an entirely new way.

RSM Design is contributing to this vision by crafting a signage and interpretive graphics system that ties the space into its broader urban context. The design approach integrates smart wayfinding strategies that connect the site seamlessly to the surrounding district, while educational and interpretive elements highlight stories of history, sustainability, and culture. More than just a navigation tool, the signage becomes a narrative layer that enriches the visitor experience and reinforces the project’s mission of civic engagement, sustainability, and design excellence.
