Residences for Innovative Student Entrepreneurs (RISE), is a brand-new student housing facility under construction on-campus at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa campus. It will be a unique innovation center with dormitory-style housing for 374 students and an extensive amenity collection to fuel creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship. RISE is managed by B.HOM Student Living as UH’s first externally managed student housing complex. It is being developed as a public-private partnership between the University of Hawai’i, the University of Hawai’i Foundation and Hunt Companies.

RISING ABOVE

Two additional towers are being built off the historic Atherton House, blending traditional with an innovative space developed to give students the tools to push the boundaries of what they think possible. Inspired by the first explorers of Hawai’i who courageously traveled 5,000 miles of open ocean on canoes, this facility provides the tools and support for students to explore their potential, and rise to the occasion.

A COMMUNITY OF INNOVATION AND INSPIRATION

To enhance the student experience, the housing was thoughtfully divided into distinct themed wings, each with its own identity, while a central common area serves as the heart of collaboration and innovation. This shared space, nestled near the historic Atherton building, brings students together in an environment that honors the past while shaping the future. The graphics throughout the project serve as a source of inspiration, reinforcing the spirit of growth, exploration, and community.
