Michelin Key Enters Texas

The Michelin Key designation has been awarded to 20 hotels in Texas. Among the hotels selected in Texas, RSM Design was honored to collaborate on three of these hotels. Hôtel Swexan in Dallas, Hotel Drover in Fort Worth, and Hotel ZaZa Memorial City in Houston have all received a key. Our team is delighted to have played a role in the wayfinding design of each of these hotels. Congratulations to each project team!

ABOUT THE MICHELIN KEY

Most have heard of the Michelin Star, which awards restaurants around the world for stellar flavor, technique, consistency and ingredients of the cuisine. The Michelin Key was introduced in the spring of 2024, announcing that it would recognize premier hotels around the world. Hotels are evaluated on their design, architecture, service and personality. In September 2024, Michelin announced the first hotels in the United States to be awarded a Michelin Key. Among the United States Michelin Key list, just 20 hotels in Texas have been awarded.

Hôtel Swexan, Dallas

Hôtel Swexan blends Swiss hospitality and Texas charm to bring each guest a unique hospitality experience. The Hôtel Swexan building is designed by renowned architect Kengo Kuma. RSM Design integrated wayfinding throughout the hotel hallways and food and beverage offerings. Our team also designed specialty lighting fixtures for Babou’s, a speakeasy bar inspired by Spanish artist Salvador Dali’s cat, named Babou. Each detail of the Swexan is vibrant and thoughtful, taking after themes from Texas and Switzerland.

Hotel ZaZa Memorial City, Houston

Inspired by the mid-century modernism of Palm Springs, Hotel ZaZa is a unique stay in Houston, Texas. The hotel is filled with unique art and ornate details. RSM Design partnered with Hotel ZaZa to create an environmental signage and wayfinding package for the hotel.

Hotel Drover, Fort Worth

Hotel Drover, inspired by the pioneering spirit of the West, it embodies true Texas character and hospitality. Since Hotel Drover’s opening, the project has been recognized for its unique design and sensitively handled historic preservation. RSM Design was honored to collaborate with the team in crafting the architectural graphics and wayfinding signage, inspired by the historic character and relation to the Fort Worth Stockyards.
