RSM Design is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal information that we receive in the normal operation of this website. This Privacy Policy explains the types of personal information we collect, how we store and process that information, who we share it with, and your rights and choices.

What we collect and why

We use Google Analytics to monitor our website traffic. In the past 12 months, we collected:

  • Identifiers: the email address [and name] you enter in our signup forms, your IP address, and a cookie ID.
  • Internet or other electronic network activity information: the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and whether you open or click our emails.
  • Geolocation data: your approximate location (such as city), estimated from your IP address.

How we handle it:

  • Sources: you, through our signup forms; and your browser or email app, automatically, through Google Analytics and HubSpot.
  • Purposes: sending you the emails you signed up for, and measuring and improving our site and emails.
  • Disclosures: we disclose each category to our service providers, Google (analytics) and HubSpot (forms and email), for these purposes.
  • Retention: signup and email data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it (we may keep your email address so we don't email you again); analytics data for 14 months.

We don't collect sensitive personal information. We don't sell or share personal information (as the CCPA defines those terms), including that of consumers under 16, and haven't in the past 12 months. Because there's nothing to opt out of, opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control don't change how we handle your data. No third party uses our site to track you across other websites.

California Consumer Privacy Act

California residents have the right to know what personal information we've collected about them, including the specific pieces, where we got it, why, and whom we've disclosed it to; to delete it, subject to certain exceptions; to correct it if it's inaccurate; and not to be retaliated against for exercising these rights, including as a job applicant, employee, independent contractor, student, or applicant to an educational program.

To exercise these rights or ask a question, email info@rsmdesign.com. We'll verify your request by confirming you control the email address in our records. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your signed permission; we may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.

General Data Protection Regulation

We rely on these legal bases:

  • Emails: your consent, given when you sign up, to receive our emails and let us see whether you open and click them. Giving us your email is optional, but we can't email you without it.
  • Analytics: your consent, implied through continued use of the website.
  • Keeping your email address after you unsubscribe: our legitimate interest in not emailing you again.

Google and HubSpot process your data on our behalf, including in the United States, under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (email us for a copy). We keep your data for the periods listed above and don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your data; to restrict or object to our processing of it; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Email us to exercise these rights, or simply discontinue using the website to stop Google Analytics' cookie-based tracking.
