The Yards

The Yards is a 14+ block neighborhood in Washington, D.C. located between Nationals Park and the Navy Yards. The site consists of high density residential and commercial uses, and a network of historic building and public parks. RSM Design was tasked with connecting the 42-acre mixed-use site through the creation of a wayfinding signage system. The design team worked alongside Forest City Realty and later Brookfield Properties to develop a design that integrates seamlessly into the neighborhood architecture. In addition, the signage fosters pedestrian circulation throughout the space.
