Fifth + Broadway Wins Communication Arts Typography Competition

RSM Design is excited to announce that the Fifth + Broadway mural walls have been recognized as a winner of the Communication Arts 2024 Typography Annual. Fifth + Broadway has been recognized within the Environmental category.

The Hatch Show Print Shop is a historic staple in downtown Nashville. Here, countless letterpress posters have been produced to market upcoming concerts and events. Paying homage to the letterpress heritage and Nashville’s music culture, we created experiential murals for Fifth + Broadway, a mixed-use development across the street from the Ryman Auditorium. RSM Design worked alongside Brookfield Properties, Gresham Smith, Design Communications Ltd., and Gensler.

ABOUT FIFTH + BROADWAY

In collaboration with developers, the design team embarked on the creation of an experiential graphics system that intricately intertwines elements of history, art, and culture with the architectural fabric of Fifth + Broadway. The design ethos takes cues from the diverse architectural elements present in the project and the surrounding community. Through the adept use of various styles and design components, Fifth + Broadway not only pays homage to the authenticity of the existing historic site but also establishes a uniquely branded environment that seamlessly integrates with the urban community that surrounds it.
