Harbor Day School

RSM Design’s work for Harbor Day School refreshed the school’s existing brand to create a timeless and cohesive identity, while preserving the existing equity. The school has deep roots in a multigenerational community, with school families closely watching the design to retain the essence of the place they know. The update of the brand system was seamless with the existing identity. The design style is timeless and coastal, ensuring it remains relevant and respectful of the community’s long-standing connection to Harbor Day School.

A COMPREHENSIVE MANUAL FOR FOR EVOLVING SIGNAGE NEEDS

To ensure the school can maintain consistency of signage as it evolves, RSM Design created a Harbor Day School signage brand standards manual. This manual provides guidelines for all campus signs, including donor and identity signs.

SHOWCASING THE SCHOOL’S VALUES AND DONOR FAMILIES

Key design elements include: the integration of the school’s motto and character pillars. Graphics thoughtfully placed on stairwells and columns to reinforce the school’s core values within the built environment. The school’s project also included an extensive donor recognition program, with donor names featuring names displayed on classrooms, buildings, outdoor spaces and a comprehensive donor wall. Donor names were designed to acknowledge families, and included graduation dates for alumni.

CAREFUL COORDINATION BRINGS VISION AND DESIGN TOGETHER

RSM Design worked closely with the school staff to produce visuals and renderings to support the capital-giving campaign. Our designers and technical team coordinated with the General Contractor to make donor names visible and carefully attached to the limestone facade. Our team ensured every detail respected the school’s vision and heritage while addressing the operational needs of the evolving campus.
