A PLAYFUL TWIST OF SYMMETRY
Alta Bakery derives its name from Alta California, the name of the Mexican state, before the area became part of the United States. Alta is a Farm to Table experience that delivers fresh, locally sourced ingredients baked in the form of breads and pastries. The logo, designed by the team at RSM Design, is an illustrative mark that consists of wheat wrapped around both sides clarifying the function as a bakery, with a playful twist on symmetry to illustrate the philosophy of chef Ben Spurgin.
Cella (pronounced “Chella,”—Italian for warehouse) is an experience that defines California culture and history. The Restaurant is housed in the Spears Warehouse, which is one of three historic adobes on the grounds of the Cooper Molera Adobes. The RSM Design team was given the creative freedom to establish the Cella brand within the Cooper Molera Adobe community. Drawing upon historical features of the rich landscape as well as capturing the modernity of the interior space, the brand identity system is both timeless and contemporary. Blending together clean lines, bold elements, shapes, and typography into a unique logo design. The circular form of the logo are intended to connect visually to the sister bakery in the neighboring Alta Bakery.
