The Residences at Pacific City are classically designed, high-quality apartments, nestled within a thriving new restaurant and boutique shopping scene. RSM Design created a brand identity and an interior and exterior signage program, developed a public art program, and conducted a study of the wayfinding and sign placement throughout the site. The design inspiration for the project was a sophisticated, simplified, beach-town feeling capturing the beauty of the natural landscape. The signage system marries the simple logo mark with warm, natural materials like reclaimed wood and creates a restrained echo of the surroundings.

A COASTAL IDENTITY FOR LUXURY LIVING

The Residences at Pacific City is a luxury residential community in the heart of Surf City, USA—Huntington Beach, California. RSM Design developed the brand identity system and architectural graphics for the project in addition to serving as liaison for the public art program. The overall project vision included creating a best-in-class residential product inspired by ultra-modern coastal living and the proximity to the Pacific Ocean—the project is located just a block from Pacific Coast Highway and one of Southern California’s most popular beaches.

WAYFINDING INSPIRED BY COASTAL CRAFTSMANSHIP

To achieve the synthesis of sophisticated luxury and casual seaside attitudes, RSM Design developed a signage system that echoes the project’s use of reclaimed barn wood while incorporating translucent sign panels reminiscent of smooth beach glass. Custom patterning, iconography, and a curated color palette further enhance the wayfinding experience.
