Memorial Union

Located at the heart of the UC Davis campus is the newly renovated and expanded campus bookstore, cafe, tech center, and bowling lanes. The school pride was re-injected in the graphics palette - bold and clear forms creating simple identity and wayfinding elements to unify the varied uses and destinations within this multi-layered facility. The comprehensive graphics program brought the character of the interior out to the adjacent plazas and student gathering spaces to blur the traditional lines of interior and exterior. The dynamic sign system complemented the existing campus sign standards and translated these academic building guidelines to a more retail and entertainment focused venue.
