College of the Desert

Located next to the resort town of Palm Springs, College of the Desert was in need of an updated master sign program that was analogous within Palm Desert. Working with the City of Palm Desert and the college campus team, RSM Design created the campus wide signage guidelines, which includes both vehicular and pedestrian wayfinding and building identities. The campus is used year round by students attending both day and night classes, as well as the numerous amount of street fairs that the campus hosts every year. The signage was designed to respond to the multitude of uses, lighting and climate conditions of the site and is inspired by the desert’s color palette, where the desert flower is a sudden burst of vibrancy within the otherwise natural sand palette.
