December 02, 2024
A NEW CHAPTER AT T&P TRAIN STATION
The Texas & Pacific (T&P) Station, a historic landmark in Fort Worth, Texas, has long been a symbol of the city’s rich railroading heritage. As part of its revitalization, RSM Design played a key role in enhancing the station’s visitor experience by designing a comprehensive signage and wayfinding system throughout the visitor’s journey to the station. With a focus on simplicity and modern elegance, RSM Design’s work strikes a delicate balance between functionality and the station’s historic charm. The signage not only guides visitors efficiently but also celebrates the station’s storied past, with specialty graphics that tell the tale of the railroad’s history and its travelers. Today, the station is a blend of contemporary design and timeless architecture that honors T&P Station’s legacy while ushering it into a new era. The station’s new wayfinding and specialty graphics will be officially unveiled on December 2, 2024, welcoming visitors to experience both its historic grandeur and modern upgrades. RSM Design’s Dallas studio is proud to have contributed our design services to the newly revitalized T&P Station!

RSM Design drew inspiration from the rich history of the T&P Station when developing the wayfinding, placemaking, and specialty graphics for the site. The design team immersed themselves in the station’s past stories, appreciating its significance as a bustling transportation hub in early 20th-century Fort Worth. RSM Design collaborated with a local historian to vividly bring to life the narratives of passengers arriving at the Fort Worth Train Station, focusing on the historical and cultural significance of the era. Together, we combined archival research and photos, oral histories, and visual storytelling for the users of the of T&P Train Station to read about and learn. The use of historic photos within the specialty graphics wove stories of the station’s history into the visual language of the present, thus creating a meaningful connection between the site’s heritage and its future.
