Bluebird Trail

At just under a mile, the Bluebird Trail is one of the most popular trails for field trips and visiting children at the Bob Jones Nature Center in Southlake, Texas. RSM Design was tasked with designing a set of interpretive trail signs for the Bluebird Trail, as well as a prototype design for the broader trail network. The signs needed to be durable and economical, as well as easily legible and interesting to children and families. Using the National Park Service guidelines, RSM Design created a system of trail signs that met all of the typography, design, and material standards, while also creating a memorable and exciting experience for hikers on the trail. The partnership between the city of Southlake, the nature preserve, and outside sponsors made the final product a unique community space that enriches the sense of place for everyone.
