A rendering depicting retail architecture at Ward Village.

Honolulu, Hawaii

Ward Village

RSM Design worked with Victoria Ward Ltd. and the City of Honolulu to turn the 60-acre Ward area of Kaka’ako into an “Urban Village”, where people shop and dine within walking distances of their homes and offices. The first phase of the master plan was to incorporate high rise residential buildings with retail and restaurants below, as well as a parking garage and a Whole Foods. The graphics included the branding guidelines, color palette, wayfinding, and specialty graphics, such as laser cut panels with Hawaiian motifs to be used throughout the project in a variety of applications. Importance was given to the design's appeal to both locals and tourists alike, while balancing the sophisticated island aesthetic.
